Sewing Classes

Classes are open to the public regardless of machine brand, though it is advised to bring your manual with you. If you don’t have one, let us know in advance so we can be prepared for you. We have a separate room with a lovely big table (made especially for us by Mr MK’s) and a coffee corner where our ladies feel welcome to settle in for class or just hang out at other times.

June will see the commencement of Judys quilt. Learn lots of machine techniques in this class. Become the mistress of your machine. This class will be taught by Judy and Marilyn.

Quilt with Joy has been a great success. We will do some night classes with Joy as well. Come to the store to see samples of most of these classes and explore the possibilities. And don't forget UFO days are held every 2nd Friday. Great morning out.

CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

Anita James
 Want to make your own, want to learn a neater way to insert lace, do you have an Embroidery machine, well join our classes with Anita James. Join the happy ladies that did the first workshop with Anita in July. No unhappy customers here, everyone enjoyed themselves and achieved so much in the day. Not only did Anita teach the ladies how to do the Doiley but she gave lots of Embroidery and Software tips during the day. What a Winner.
Lace Workshop: 27th September 9 - 3 Linen and Lace Runner using Insertion Lace and Cut outs. Get your name in early for this one, you will have pre-class work to do. The date is set for 27th September and seating will be limited. Contact us for more information.
4D Embroidery Software
4D Embroidery Class: with Becky. 1st Saturday of the Month. Learn the modules of your 4D whilst creating this lovely quilt/wall hanger. On the finishing run for this one so look out for the beginning of the 4D Elements Quilt. Blocks will be appearing soon.
Garden of Stitches Quilt: Judy Kraut and Marilyn of Mks.
17th August and each 3rd Tuesday of each month. 9 – 3.  You have asked for it and here it is. The Garden is proving to be a winner. Learn more about your machine and its abilities, be amazed – as some of our ladies have been. See what you can create with a little knowledge of what your machine is capable of doing, and an embroidery machine is not necessary.  Some stunning stitch and colour options are being used. 
Quilting with JoyT
Learn to Quilt: 21st August, Just can't get the hang of it - Joy will have you amazed at how quickly you can achieve wonderful results. You’ll be making feathers, hearts, circles, eee’s and lots more. What a great class this is. Kit supplied.
Table Runner: Make this lovely Table Topper using Colouring Pencils, Trapunto, Quilt as you Go and twin needle work. Fun project with lots of new tips and techniques. 
Quilted Lap Top Bag: A must to do, I told Joy we had a request for a Lap Top Bag class and home she went and created a it. Individualise a bag to reflect your fashion and to suit your needs.
Sewing with Nadia
Begin to Sew: Start Block 1 and Make a T-Shirt. This is the class for the beginners, from the raw to the “ I did something in school”.  Learn basic sewing techniques with ease of understanding and no pressure to top the class. We have some regulars past the beginner stage that don't want to stop, just ask Bob, he is capable of making curtains, piped and ruffled cushions edges, inserting zips and fitted sheets. He didn’t know how to thread a machine 6 months ago, now he owns 2.
Pattern Fit and Drafting: Make that pre-purchased pattern really fit you, or learn how to draft your own. This is a class for the serious learner and worth every effort to come to.  

UFO (Unfinished Objects) and PHD (Projects Half Done) CLUB
You can meet here on alternated Thursdays and Friday, Sit and sew with friends, bring a machine or use ours. Hand sew, knit or crochet, it doesn’t matter. Just talk if you wish. ‘Great way to ge t some R & R’
