About Us
MK’s Sew-Able is the PFAFF dealer in Toowoomba, since 1st April 2007, stocking an extensive range of PFAFF products. We offer you the opportunity to ‘try before you buy’, with most machines in stock and a Grand Quilter with Cruise Control on a Frame ready to go.
We have a Master PFAFF technician available for Service and Repairs, not only to PFAFF and SINGER but to most other brands of machines and over lockers. If you purchased a PFAFF prior to 1st April 2007, please contact us to have your details added to our database, thus enabling you to receive our newsletters, catalogues and class schedules.
Pfaff Training Sessions
When you buy a sewing machine from MK’s Sew-Able, you not only purchase the machine, but you also purchase our after sales service, and we encourage you to not only come in for your free machine lessons but to participate in our Classes when we assist you in developing your skills and learning new techniques and skills.
Meet the Staff:
I’m Marilyn (MarilynK) and the Owner/Operator of MK’s Sew-Able. I have been running MK’s since December 2005 when I commenced a SINGER dealership. In April 2007, I began my association with PFAFF machines. I moved the business to our current address of 16B Prescott St Toowoomba on 1st December 2009 and here I stay. I am steadily building my business by bringing in new stock ideas and certainly by listening to you, my customer, and your needs. I pride myself in my fairness to my clients and I know how important your machine is to you and will always attempt to satisfy your needs. Now I would like you to meet my staff. We will get a photo gallery as soon as I can arrange it after my holiday. Oh, did I forget to mention that? Mick (the silent other MK) and I are flying to Townsville on 19th August. We will be visiting our family there while attending different craft shops and shows, I have a ticket for the Fabric and Fibre show on 21st August, and of course there will be fishing and camping activities as well.
Becky (Rebecca) has been with MKs for nearly 3 years now and has a hands-on knowledge of the workings of the shop. Becky also does the window dressing, stock entry, and teaches the 4D Embroidery classes. Beck works most Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings and is my third hand and is invaluable to me. But don’t tell her that or she’ll want more pay.
JoyT (Quilting with Joy) has been part-time Tutoring for the past 18 months. I am blessed to have had her walk in my door and say “I can teach people to quilt for you”, wow what an understatement. She certainly can. Joy is a dedicated PFAFF quilter and is passionate about what she does and she loves to share her knowledge with everyone. I can see her twitching while she teaches – it’s like she’s an addict in withdrawal because she’s not on a machine. So lucky to have her on my team.
Nadia (Sewing basic and on) joined me about 18 months ago as well and she is the lady with so much patience. Nadia is the teacher of our Beginners sewing and then on, up to Pattern Drafting, her ability is astounding and its delightful to listen to her encourage her class to achieve. She now has a young man in her group and she can be proud of what he has accomplished. He is past the beginner but I don’t think he wants to leave us.
JoyM (New Back-up staff) Joy has just joined us and will be my Becky back-up, Joy is an accomplished Sewer and Quilter. She has started her own Pattern collection of which she will sell and teach in-store. You will be seeing lots of Joy’s samples appearing all over the shop in time to come. Her Table runner is already on display. I’m glad she found her way to my shop and oh so pleased she offered her services.
OrindaK. My niece mainly comes in on Saturday mornings. She has been busy on the computer doing lots of exciting stuff like the stock take, typing in book titles and subjects for the library, making Members cards etc etc. So exciting, but Orinda is doing some important data recording for me and you will see her tucked into her little corner with Snoozy the Cat, just typing away and having her own little party with the keyboard
